Captain Justin Fleck called in with an update from the Big X Our recent day trip had very good fishing for Wahoo and Yellowtail The Yellowtail fishing was a little slow and we did hit a nice kelp for some Dorado The weather was very good during this trip until today when the winds kicked up We will turnaround tomorrow and we have Big Al's trip on tap for departure tomorrow AM Stay tuned Excel Leaves The Ridge Capt Justin checked in from the Excel and they are at the ridge and did not like what they saw The water had changed and was a little dirty and not much sign of tuna and no Wahoo We decided to head up to where everyone had been getting some tuna We got there at mid day and got into some decent grade Yellowfin and a few Skipjack Tuna the bonus was that there were some Wahoo around and we were getting or once in awhile We did find on kelp where we got Wahoo and ended the day with more Excel Headed To The Ridge Capt Justin checked in from the Excel as they started their trip at Alejos Rock fishing for Wahoo we did have a problem with the sharks this time But everyone did manage to get at least one each most got more than weather is flat calm We are headed to the ridge now to look for tuna Yellowtail Dorado and even more Wahoo we will check back in again later and let you know how we do at the ridge We will check back in again later Excel Finds Wahoo In 1.5 Day Range Capt Justin checked in from the Excel last night to let us know they had fished Cedros Island the last couple days we had one good bite with the Yellowtail which lasted until dark We also had Black Seabass that was successfully released We also got Wahoo at the islands and also lost one We were in the local day zone and only found one kelp that was holding and to our surprise we got a Wahoo off the kelp and also lost one Good news for the local fleet as the Wahoo are moving on up the line We will Excel Headed North Capt Justin checked in from the Excel as they fished the last days at Alejos Rocks as we ducked a storm We ended up with Wahoo so it turned out good for us We now have another storm headed this way Hurricane Linda is on her way So we are goning to head on up as the weather looks good we will be looking for Dorado as we travel north We have a very good catch so far and everyone on the Gallagher day trip is having a good time We will check back in again later Excel Checks In As They Arrive At The Rocks Capt Justin checked in from the Excel as they are on their day Gallagher trip we had to stay along the beach to avoid tropical storm Kevin We have had pretty good fishing along the way for Yellowtail Yellowfin and some Wahoo at the ridge We are headed to the rocks right now and everyone is primed and ready to fish the rocks We will check back in again later the storm has passed and the weather is good Excel Departs On 8 Day Yesterday Capt Justin checked in from the Excel last nigh to let us know they departed on their annual Pat Gallagher Day Alejos Rock trip We have a lot of regulars on the trip as well as Pats grandson and grandaughter this trip should be a lot of fun Tomorrow will be another travel day and then we will be on the hunt for Wahoo We will check back in again later Big Dorado and Spearfish Captain Mike Ramirez called in late last night with an update from the Excel We are done fishing for big Bluefin We decided to go fishing offshore today We had some nice big Dorado and school sized Yellowtail In addition we caught a couple Shortbill Spearfish The Okuma Day trip is winding down but we are all happy and really like this great group of people We will check back soon Steady Bluefin Tuna Captain Mike Ramirez called in with an update from the Excel out of Fisherman s Landing in San Diego CA We left yesterday on our annual Okuma Reels Day trips Today we fished Bluefin Tuna and we had steady action all day long From sun up to sun down The big Bluefin were pounds to pounds We are going to spend out night in this zone and give it another go tomorrow Excel Headed for Home Capt Mike checked in from the Excel to report that they have had some really exciting fishing the last couple days fishing at cedros Island for Yellowtails was excellent We also went offshore and did some kelp fishing and got some really nice bull Dorado we also soem into some nice schoolsized tuna to off the tanks The weather has been absolutely beautiful and the water was calm we are now headed back to the landing and will arrive tomorrow morning Then we turn around on another day trip we will check back in again later Toothy Critters!
Captain Mike Ramirez called in late last night with an update from the Excel Today we fished for Wahoo at Alijos Rocks Everyone got a Wahoo today We had a great day seeing them jumping out of the water We will be heading North and fishing for Yellowtail tomorrow Excel Sliding South Capt Mike checked in from the Excel as they are headed out on their day trip we fished offshore today in great weather It was a little tough for us but we did find on kelp that was holding Dorado and we managed few good sized fish We are now headed south looking for more weather is looking good for tomorrow and hopefully we will find a new area of fish Everyone is in good spirits and having a good time we will check back in again tomorrow Excel Gets Daily Limit of Yellowfin Tuna Capt Justin checked in from the Excel as they are moving up the line hitting some kelps and managed to get Dorado some Yellowtail and a few tuna We got into the local zone in US waters and got our daily limits of Yellowfin and are now looking for some Bluefin Tuna The weather has been great and the waters are flat calm we will check back in again when we fine te Bluefin Islands continue to produce Quality Yellowtail Fishing!

Hello anglers Today was another good day of yellowtail fishing It never seems to get old watching them zip across the surface with their backs out of the water chasing baits or someones jig The chaos started as soon as the sun started to rise and didn't slow down till around The Salas x seem to be working the best but we did have several on the surface iron We left the YT grounds around lunch time headed offshore in search of yellowfin tuna We will check back tomorrow and keep you posted Wish us luck Yellowtail report Hello anglers Today we fished for yellowtail It started off hot and heavy as soon as the sun began to rise We were able to keep - fish going at any given time This lasted for about an hour and just like that they were gone We were still able to scratch away at the yt threw out the day and it all added up to a great catch Most of the fish are very good grade - lbs We are spending the night here and giving it another morning Wish us luck Bluefin up to 120 Pounds!We will be taking some time off after this trip for our annual maintenance period.I would like to thank everyone that came out with us this season and look forward to seeing you again.Captain Justin Fleck called in last night with an update We had good fishing for Wahoo at the Ridge We ended up with about per person We have now moved down to the lower banks and are now catching tuna There are nice signs down here and we are catching and seeing fish We are hoping to get a nice one for everyone before we start heading up the line Stay tuned Excel Headed for The Ridge Capt Justin checked in as they started their day trip and started off at the islands and we had great Yellowfin Tuna yesterday and had daily limits We stayed the night and did not fair as well and got a few Yellowtail and then headed offshore and only managed about a dozen more Dorado We are now headed south to the ridge in search of Wahoo we will check back in again later Tougher Conditions Captain Justin Fleck called in tonight with an update from the Excel out of Fisherman s Landing in San Diego We spent a couple days at the lower banks We did have some pounders and thing were looking good but then the weather came up We then moved into the Wahoo zone and the winds changed the conditions and the fish were not biting We finally made it to the islands We will spend the night in comfortable conditions and then try for some Yellowtail tomorrow We will check back in later Wahoo at the Ridge Captain Justin Fleck called in last night with an update from the Excel The past couple days we have fished the Ridge for Wahoo We caught them on jig strikes bombs jigs and live bait We had yesterday and today There are some school sized tuna around We are going to slide down to the lower banks for the next couple days We are having a great time with the Colonello group We will check in tomorrow Excel Gets Wahoo and Yellowfin at the Islands Capt Justin checked in from the Excel as they fished the islands and were surprised to find Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo in the are and had a really good day yesterday We spent the night and found the same thing this morning with the Yellowfin going to lbs and had drift for About am the current went away and the fish all had lockjaw after that we are now headed for the ridge in search of more Wahoo and hopefully some better grade Yellowfin and Yellowtail We will check in again tomorrow Excel Headed South on 10 Day Trip Capt Justin Checked in from the Excel as they departed on their San Colinele trip we have a couple new folks on the trip that have never been on the boat before For the most part it is same group as every year and the storm has gone away so things are looking good We are headed to the islands and see if we can find anything around we should arrive sometime around noon tomorrow We will check back again later and let you know how we did Looking for Dodos!Captain Mike Ramirez called in with an update from the Excel We have spent the last few days targeting Wahoo and Tuna We will be fishing offshore for Dorado tomorrow We have seen some good sign We will check back soon Excel Targeting Wahoo Tomorrow Capt Mike from the Excel checked in with a report that they were having a great day fishing the Yellowtail for the last couple days We are now headed offshore and fish for Dorado and Wahoo and were pretty successful Tomorrow we are going to target the Wahoo wish is luck Heading South!
