Catholics against interracial dating
Terry I recently was speaking to a young Catholic person who was of the firm opinion that races shouldn't mix. This person is religious and my answers seemed inadequate to this person so that they would perhaps realize that while this may be a personal preference, not to date or marry someone of different race or ethnicity, that it certainly is something that doesn't go against basic Christian, Catholic teaching..that interracial dating and marriage is fine. Thanks, David This kind of thinking is based on a faulty premise. Anthropologists and others have done a poor job of educating the world to this fact. It's a prejudice against melanin -- the pigment responsible for skin color.Jay Being against interracial marriages does not imply somebody is "racist".Being against interracial marriages does not imply somebody is "racist". I would not blink at their marrying outside their ethnicity. In fact being against interracial marriages can very much be defended within Catholic doctrine Another good example is the position of the Protestant theologian Rousas John Rushdoony; who argued that while interracial marriages are against God's law; nevertheless one is required to show Christian love towards all people. Ironic you mention that, since that assuming there's an distinct differences between the two. I would be very worried at the thought of their not marrying a Catholic. Love in Christ, Crystal Crystal I totally agree with you.
I'll keep my comments short, Im not going to waste too much time on this one.as i have stated before, there are people in our church that have multicultural marriages, and the priest does not forbid it.is he supposed to not perform a marriage ceremony of people of different ethnicities? We are sorry, but the system was unable to process your request because your web browser did not behave as expected.Cookies are required by this website in order to ensure a seamless user experience.
