How to prevent itunes from updating
It is working fine for new installs, but I haven't seen the result yet for users who already have libraries setup.
Thats on the list for testing later this week, I"ll let you know how it goes.
I'm going to experiment with this using the "Custom Settings" payload and post the outcome to the forum.
Whenever there's a Safari or a Quicktime update the Apple Software Updater pops up asking if want to update.
To prevent apps from reinstalling on your devices after deleting them, select the “Apps” check box in the “Automatic Downloads” section so there is NO check mark in the box.
Click “OK” to save your changes and close the dialog box.
I find the idea of controlling i Tunes settings with configuration profiles very appealling.There is a command-line that will do this and I've created a script around this command. /bin/sh # Shell script to disable software update checking in i Tunes. "$ sudo -u $ defaults write com.apple.i Tunes disable Check For Updates -bool YES Check for Updates from the Apple menu-bar.When I run the above defaults command in Terminal, an error message appears as shown below. I tried using "disable Check For Updates -bool YES" on the plist as well.When you delete an app on your i Phone or i Pad, you may notice that it gets installed again when you sync with i Tunes on your PC.However, there’s a way to prevent apps from reinstalling on your i Phone or i Pad after you delete them.
